Hey guys, this post is probably leaning on the fence for "Traditional", but I did check with one of our moderators before posting. He indicated if it was a muzzleloader and not a breech loader go ahead.
A fellow BP shooter sent me the photos, but it shows what some people come up with. His cousin made it and gave it to him. It has modern screws mixed in, and some metal on the forestock that I can't identify. It is a 1"sidelock smooth bore and uses a 1" ball in front of 150 grains of black powder. I personally would not want a contraption like this, but is interesting to see other ideas. Can't tell you anymore.

:oops::dunno:
WTH?!
So many questions are running through my head.....
None are nice so I won't....

But, thanks for sharing @Larry (Omaha) it makes me feel better about some of my past projects... (Scout Rifle styled Mossberg bolt action shotgun 🙄)

The stock seems rather clunky and the peep sight is unnecessary on a smoothbore, especially of 4 bore (1"). As an exercise in creating a traditional sort of smoothbore, it is an interesting experiment.

Well ....I'm heavily into the authentic bit but ...I have to admire the builders work and his imagination. If it works and is reliable ...more power to him . Very interesting gun .
