I have a friend with an A W Lenhart 36 cal kentucky rifle and he wants to know anything he can about the maker, and what price he should ask if he sells it, any ideas?

Allot more details and pictures of the gun would help. There is no way of knowing by the info we have now.

No offense, but your asking a question like, "I have a 1990 Ford, what's it worth". No one can tell you with that little info.

I dont have any pics guys, although it is in good to excellent condition.
nobody has heard of this maker?
I have seen a pistol of his go at auction for $600.
Assuming that was a reasonable price, I can extrapolate from there, but I am trying to find out whatever I can.
Thanks for the info :)

You cannot necessarily extrapolate from the price of the pistol. Perhaps it sold too high. Or too low. The rifle may be a later piece and better made or fitted with better components. It may have a nice patch box or a really well done cheek piece. Too many variables to make guess-timates from the price of one pistol.

Check with the gunworks.inc in springfield ,or.
they know this builder
they will have some info for u. plus their web catalogue is great.

I can tell you, my Dad has a Lancaster that was made by Lenhart and Poole. I am pretty sure this Lenhart is the same person as you are looking for. It is nice work and was built we think in the late 70's early 80's. If I remember right, these builders were from the Minnesota area.

Does it look like this
