Has anyone built a rifle with an A weight barrel in .40 cal. 44" long from Colerain? What loading did you use? Have read someplace that the accuracy in not good due the waist being so thin.

A straight 1 1/6 chunk gun barrel will shoot more accurately than an A profile swamped barrel--but you will likely have to be a world class marksman to notice the difference. At least for me, the A profile barrels I have are more accurate than I can hold them....

Used a colerain A weight .40 42" barrel awhile back in a build. shot fantastic. Never used a 44" in .40 though. Don't believe any statements like that on forums. I've used Colerain, Getz, Rice, TOTW, Burton and Bill Large Barrels. They all shoot once you figure out what they like.
