For my arms, I made practical simple leather laced belts, supports, bags, pouches and slippers (sockets).
Over the years, all of it has evolved for practical purpose. Actual use. I go out 'ranging' and carry at least 1 backup to a primary pistol. I m out for hours, so the means of carry/support of pistols and appendages must be as comfortable/practical as can be.
Also, being able to recharge while on the move is capable,- I ve made a series of clips and pouches where I can manage flasks, oilers caps and so on, with relative ease.

The slipper pouches are of soft and pliable 4 oz chap leather for ease of carry on the inside/outside of belt. the pistol pouch can be removed from its slipper without me having to remove the belt and so on. This way the pistol remains safe within its full flap pouch.
Full flap pouches are the rule. The revolving pistol percussion system is just too suseptible to 'cock molestation'. The full flap system protects the hammer from unwanted agitaion to dangerous cocking.
