I could use some tips on using dyed accra glass
to tidy up some gaps around a buttplate.

If the gaps are small you can use a ball peen hammer and upset the metal (bend it) to conform to the stock. Then use files to clean up the brass.

You can peen it to close the gaps, but be sure that it is screwed down tight in place, and be very careful in the toe area. Don't get too close to it.
