Bought this original Adams copy a few weeks ago. It is in very nice shape mechanically & pretty clean cosmetically.

It is a five shot & uses a .350" roundball, so it's somewhere between a .31 & a .36 caliber.....did they make a .34?!
The barrel is 4.75" long & octagonal, except the top flat is much narrower than the others, forming a type of rib, blade front sight is dovetailed. Rear sight is a raised portion at the rear of the top strap, & is fixed. The action is DA/SA with the double action being very heavy but the single action quite crisp. Grips a quite long, have a sawhandle-type grip & have a grip cap with lanyard ring attached. The receiver, top & back strap, & trigger guard are all lightly engraved.

The only thing that has me a little nonplussed is that there are no makers name or proof marks anywhere on the gun, & I've had it all in pieces. This would tend to rule out that it is of either English or Belgian (& possibly most other European countries) origin. Do you think it might be of U.S. manufacture? Any information & educated guesses appreciated.

It looks English to me, but it ought to have proof marks somewhere if it is. These revolvers are actually good shooters and often found in fine condition, especially when compared to their well used brethren in America.

Yes, I think it'll make a good shooter. It's a little lighter than I'd like, but am anxious to give it a whirl at the range. I have a couple boxes of Hornady .350 RBs plus I just got hold of 20lbs of 000 buckshot for a song on Ebay....that should be a lifetimes worth of shooting in this little guy! I thought the engraving looked English, but the total lack of proofs makes me doubt that it is of English-make.

Massachusets Arms Co. made copies of the Adams but the cylinder notches were different. Found this. Maybe yours is the .34 mate to it. http://armscollectors.com/mgs/deane_adams_deane_part_1.htm

I have a pinfire revolver of the same design. It does not have the engraving, and the checkering on the grip is different. It likewise has no proof nor manufacturer's marks on it that I can find. I would like to shoot it, but can't find a source for pinfire cartridges...
