adding a fly pole hole in a pyrimid tent

I have a 10 x 10 pyrimid and would like to add a
ridge pole for my fly.
What size of gromett and what size of pin would be best to add to the peak?

Usually a fly/canopy comes off of just above the door on a pyramid/single pole tent, :idunno:

Common is a 3/8 grommet, I use a 5/16 pin for easy fit. I reinforce the area where I place the grommet with another layer or two of canvis stiched in, or use the iron-on strips+stitching. Just something to beef up that spot.
