Advice on getting started crafting.

A Dremel is a handy tool in the hands of someone that knows how to use one, an experienced Dremel user also knows when and when not to use one.

Yep, unfortunately brain tan costs way too dam much! chrome tan and oil tanned for stuff such as bags and pouches works just fine

I've been seriously considering trying my hand at making muzzleloading accessories but I haven't the slightest idea where to begin. Any of you makers out there have any advice for me? I'd like to start with pouches, horns, powder measures etc and work my way up to the gunsmithing. I have a sewing machine and a dremel tool I assume those are both going to come in handy.

Start with making your own kit. Use it and see what works and what needs improvement, read books and look at artifacts, then start making what you found both useful and in demand. The more you do the better you get. Don’t be afraid to mess up, I have boxes of projects that just didn’t work for me, but there is a lesson in each one, and some scrap leather.
