anyone know much about these locks how good are they built, trigger etc.? :hmm:

Dick Greensides, at Pecatonica sells them, and that tells me it must be O.K. stuff. Good picture and description. The 3/4-16 threaded breech limits thye barrel size to 1" or larger. Looks to be a long range shootin action. I would think you would want a tapered barrel for it Probably would look good with a Walnut stock with the metal in the white or antiqued. I would also guess that Dick has precarved stocks for the action. Give him a call and all your questions should be answered.

Yep, Dick Greensides, at Pecatonica does have a forearm and butt stock for that action at $125.00 for the set in either curly maple or walnut. Have to ask him about them as they are not listed on his website.

How would you fit a barrel to it?? I'd love to build one of these rifles I think they look really cool!! ,plus they are something different than the Pennsylvania and Hawken rifles you see all the time! I saw a completed one on Track of The Wolf's web site and it looked really nice! They wanted $800 for it I believe! Color case hardening the action would accent the rest of the rifle very well in my opinion rust blue the rest maybe? I'd like to hear more from people on this!! It sounds like a really neat project  Take care Wes!

It has a 3/4 breech plug on it so it takes a 1 1/8" barrel, Hate to tell you it's got a Hawken trigger guard built in too. :rotf: Fred :hatsoff:
