American Pioneer Powder instructions says to use no lubes. Thier website says lubes may cause fouling, and performance problems. It also says, it creates its own "lube", with the residue left in the barrel after shooting. I must admit when I shoot PRBS, I have been using T/C prelubed patches, with the APP. However, I use this at the range, and shoot, soon after loading. Have had no problems. But if you were to load for hunting, and the charge was in contact with a lube, for hours, or days, it may not work the way it should. Has anyone used dry patches, with APP? It seems to me that a dry patch, would be subject to burnout, and be hard on the bore of the rifle. It almost seems like APP would be better off used with sabots, rather than PRBS, or lubed conicals.

:applause:Have had good luck with 50 cal percussions shooting APP. You will note as others have noted that APP does not measure out the same as BP. One will need to increase by small amount. Have aslo use APP for 45/70. Clean up after shoot is just a breez. Remember BOILING HOT Water/Soap and final clean with BOILING CLEAN WATER. Final cleaning by oiling all. Note that I don't use ANY SOLVANT CLEANING products, also same when cleaning BP. The amount of shooting is generaly 50 to 80 rounds each time out. Loading has been find, no fouling at all. Dry pach always, even when hunting. Remember you must try to find the right size patch by shooting and looking at shoot patches. I have had no burn patches once correct size patch.
