Just finished one side of my appeal to Heaven flag. I used osnaburg and outdoor paints and can't wait to fly it at my next event (if we ever get to go somewhere again).

I enjoyed making this so much, I may have to make some other historic flags!

nice.
i know not much about flags, i know this flag is a revolutionary flag.

i am curious , when one makes a flag or on originals are the insignia and letters sewn on? is the printing reversed on the other side or is it rewritten or resewn?
thanks

Awesome question OU, original flags are usually one sided (at least the ones I've seen in museums and archives), they could be painted or sewn.

Now if they decided to make them two sided, they would paint/sew two identical panels of the flag, then when sewing them together, would add a third panel in between the two (which is what I'm doing with this one) so that the flag doesn't look transparent.
