After the first for roundball, I thought I'd put that couch hide leather to use again and made a few more pouches. The first was given away as a gift to shooter250 after he did the same. These are right to left, my rb pouch, some coin pouches, a souvenir pouch and a couple of extra ball pouches. Most are the same freebie couch hide leather. The naugha-gator-hyde pouch contains teeth of things I shot or otherwise. :shocked2: leavin it at that. The closures are mostly of Italian Evergreen soapstone bead slides that I carved. Hard to make just one! Steve

Those look very nice Steve; how are they standing up to the lead balls? I too have a bunch of leather from a leather sofa and have thought of making bags and maybe even a snapsack or two from the leather. I just couldn't stand the thought of that leather going to a land fill.

Emery - The couch was well loved by my Bro-in-law and his three rough and tumble boys and their teen aged friends. In fact they were the demise of it(racked and wrecked the framework) by using it as a wrestling trampoline.

So the leather is already broke in quite well. To answer specifically about holding up to round balls; I shoot often and fill the primary pouch with 50 or more balls at a time. The bag is starting to show some stretch but it looks appropriate for holding a pound of lead. The piece was already pretty supple and feels good so far. like your couch, I'm sure, there are panels of differing thickness, suppleness and grain. I just pick what feels right for the pouch and how much strain it will be subjected to.
