I was just at the Green Mountain website, looking at smoothbore drop in barrels. The description notes that they will fit "Renegade and similar". It pains me to admit that I'm not exactly sure what that means. Does it refer only to the one inch barrel profile or is there more to it than that? All MLers are "similar" in many ways. What other rifles are a match for the Renegade?

Offhand, I can't think of any others that would interchange, perhaps the old T/C hawken "big-bore" might interchange with a Renegade, I don't know, but there never were a lot of those.

"Are they refering to the 'hooked breech'?"
Dunno. There aren't too many Renegades to be found - a couple on Gunbroker right now is all I could find; I was hoping that another rifle might be suitable.

Rebel is right ! The 50 cal TC Hawken is 15/16 across the flats and the 54 is 1 inch. All Renegades are 1 inch.I have a 54 Hawken and a 50 cal Renegade the barrels interchange, and my Green Mountain 62 smoothie will fit either.

The reference to the .54 and big-bore T/C Hawken is very correct, but "and similar" also includes rifles like the CVA, Investarm & etc. so long as they are of hooked breach and let for a 1" barrel channel and the wedge pin ecutussion lines up.

Thanks for the replies. I knew that there had to be someone who knew which rifles would work.
As it turns out, TOW has a .54 smoothie that they can adapt for my GPR.
