The original Zoli repos were 3 each lands and grooves .003" deep, perfect for Minies...as the originals were intended. Later ones are now 1-48" but with more lands and grooves and deeper cut...probably a result of all the hurt feelings! :haha: Obviously, there were some smoothbores made for the European market since Britsmoothie has been regailing us with his dead bunnie stories. He's knocking then into hassenpfeffer deliciousness with a patched ball in a smooth bore...just goes to show you!

I think having a large bore rifle of any sort is alot more controlled/difficult to own in the UK...

To hunt with a muzzleloader rifle in Britain seems strangely difficult! Target shooting when a club member is no problem.
I request a muzzleloading rifle often on my licence but are turned away.
I thing although there is actually no law banning there use in hunting but the 'giude lines' discourages a grant for hunting!

I think they are worried huge heavy slugs are going to be bouncing around!

No doubt some expert was involved :youcrazy:

The remingtom 'Zouave' IIRC, was bored out to 20 guage in quantity and sold to Natives in African Nations for hunting after the American Civil War. I understand it was used as a shotgun on birds and small game and as a smooth rifle on literally everything else! :shocked2: Perhaps a little heavy but you coudn't tear it up with a hammer, :haha: Might be an interesting project for a piece with a bad bore, :hmm: Let us know how it turns out if you do that. Treestalker  :hatsoff:
