Circa 1860 St Etienne S X S 12 Gauge.

This a high end S X S from the 1850's/1860s. Great wood, nice engraving, and some strong case. It is fully fuctional with a replaced return spring on one of the triggers. The crack in the wrist was professional repaired. It has great marks on the bottom of the barrels that itdentify the St Eitenne Arsenal and the period it was made. It can be shipped direct in most states.

$600 Shipped to the lower 48.

Are there indeed 41 pics as noted in IMGUR?
I count 40 or 41. I just discovered if you click on the link it goes black. If you click on the arrows at the end of the 1st pic it takes you through the pics and there are 40 or 41. Imgur seems to respond a little differently on different forums. I will be glad to send you individual pictures if you send me an email

Have you fired this gun and, if so, your impressions? I do not believe you mentioned the condition of the bores? Damascus barrels do not put me off, unless there is rust/pitting. You can get bore pics by dropping lighted arrow nocks into them, or a small enough pen light.
You are not too far from me. What would the price be without freight, if we met half way, for example?

No I haven't fired the gun. I posted both bores this morning. Moderate pitting. $50 as long as I'm not burning gas. What us close?

Pequea in southern Lancaster county. Google says about 2 hours and 15 minutes. But maybe meet somewhere in between. My grand daughter is down your way and we usually meet in Bel Air, but open to suggestion.

Does the pitting snag cleaning patches?

Very interested. Let me stew on it today. Back to you tonite or tomorrow.

It is going to be at least 2 hours round trip. Shipping is going to be around $50. I'll deliver as far as Annapolis. Much easier and cheaper for me to ship. I'm going to my Smith with the gun. I know very little about what is acceptable in a Damascus SxS. My Smith is a former Marine Ordnance Chief and forgot more than I'll ever know. Won't see him till late afternoon tomorrow.

Let me know if you want to drive that far or are u willing to do 600 shipped.

Tom

You are correct about shipping. If I put a value to my time, it is cheaper to pay the freight. But make sure to insure it. Read the horror stories on here before determining how to pack.
Let me know what your smith has to say. If he is okay then I am ok.
If we do this Fulton Bank will send you a check for me. I am perfectly happy waiting for it to clear before you ship. Will need a name and address for the bank.

Thanks I will get the gun to John this afternoon. I appreciate your understanding on the shipping
If we are waiting on a. Check clearing a personal check will be fine. I do my own postage and labels and always insure. It will also require a signature. When we finalize i would appreciate a proof of age.by email or with payment. I like to keep the Feds happy. I will not sell to anyone else until you decide and mark it SPF as soon as you do.

Based on some of the horror stories on here about USPS and UPS I'd say be very careful of packaging. Some of the letters confirm my belief that Murphy was an optimist.

Still need a proper name and mailing address for the payment. The check will mail from Fulton Bank.

My address is

I ship Priority Mail all the time. I had a antique S & W go to CO. The guy told me it looked like a truck hit it but the gun was fine. I pack them to take abuse and alway insure for the full value Ill get the final verdict in a bit

Got the assessment from John. Give me a call 301 717 3656, I want to make sure I give you the information you want. Keep in mind this one of the only antique shotguns I've ever messed with.
