Doing my spring cleaning in my shop today, and found a box of deer antlers, that have been collecting dust for some time.

I thought I would try my hand at making some powder measures. The first one is a 60 gr FF measure.
I'll make them in 10 gr increments, up to 90 grs.

Nice measure! I put a spout on mine, too. It works great, I don't know about you, but my antler measure is my favorite piece of my kit. Again, nice job and post pictures of the others when you finish them.

Just to make the measure more usable, try making it so you can pour into the barrel if you are loading prone. You will need a spout that sticks above the edge of the measure so you can tilt the measure into the muzzle. All of my measures can be used that way. Every once in a while I will be at a shoot where I have to load from behind a log while laying down. That will really test your gear.

I try to stay away from the prone position these days. Takes to long, or two people to get me up :surrender:

I see your point! Might try my hand at doing some. Do you have any pic's posted of any?

Sorry, I haven't messed with posting photo's yet. The simplest measure for loading while prone is a piece of bamboo that fits inside of the barrel. Works a treat on my Bess, but smaller calibers can be a problem.

NW, the spout is a great idea! I guess I need help with the key hole design on the bottom. :surrender:
Thanks, :hatsoff:
