I'm attempting to make a priming flask out of piece of antler and would like to use a spout like in the pictures. but can't locate one. Anybody know where I might find one like that? I'm going to plug the hole in base of antler with a horn type plug and use it to fill. The spout will go in the antler point like in the pics. It's just right to hold in hand by big part of antler and pour out the tip..or point end. I still got to finish enlarging the holes and cut back antler tip according to what spout I use.
Thanks for any info.

Have you tried Dixie Gun Works or Track of the Wolf? I really like the way Track's web site is arranged. Believe I saw some type of primer spouts there.

Not sure what kind of spout that is, but I've got antler pan primers and small pocket priming horns, all have the 3grn plunger dispenser type valve...used them for for a few years now, work great...October Country is where I got my valves

I haven't tried Dixie Gun Works yet..will though. I found some like Roundball uses at TOW, but can't find one like I show. It's a 3grs. plunger... just has that spring. You plug the head back the length of the spring and it dumps 3ozs.
I think I will go with the kind you use Roundball. Then I won't have to cut as much of the antler point.

Thanks for the info.

They make the one like Roundball is talking about in 2 sizes. (small 3 grain & large 4 grain) I suggest the larger one if you can find it, as the small one clogs up easier in humid or rainy weather.

Actually it's not a problem for me...the only time & place I've ever had that happen was once or twice at the range during a long 40 shot range session, and it comes from putting the pan primer down into a wet gooey pan where it picks up dampness.

It's never happened with a clean pan regardless of weather/humidity, even when it happens with a gooey pan at the range, I just slide a pipe cleaner up the little barrel and pull it back out.

It's never happened while hunting...pan primer stays in an inside shirt pocket where it's warm and dry...I like the precision of a 3grn prime every time

Lots of good suggestions here. I used one of the 3 grain push type dispensers - got it at Log Cabin Shop at about the same price as the TOTW link. Here's the finished product, made from an elk antler tip with my trusty Dremel.

That turned out good..I'm thinking about making a brush using turkey beard..anybody got any info. on that. Like will the beard wear out fast or is it too supple?
I ordered several different grain dispensers and plugs...even broke down and ordered 1st. addition of one a them RCA books...figured if I was goin to pay that much for a book..I'd get one with a lot of pictures in it.

A turkey beard brush would be cool, but I don't think it would wear well. Hog bristles I think are authentic and they are what I use. If you can find an old shop broom with stiff natural bristles it is a great source, unfortunately most brooms have synthetic bristles now.

Your pan primer is listed in Dixie's catalog #153, 50th Anniversary Edition, on pg, 283.
P/N HA0301, Fort Chambers Pan Charger @ $14.95.
You could drop them an e-mail and see if they could supply just the end you want? Or maybe put you in touch with the manufacturer.
I've had both good and hard luck with them in the past (mostly good though). Think it depends on who you speek with?

Good luck.

Riarcher..thanks for the info..I decided to use the other type dispenser..the reason is the one I've got with the long spout and spring has a slot where the powder pours out when you pull the dispenser head back..and it's aggravating couse you never know if the slot is up down or side ways till you pull back to dispense the powder.

I had to give the ole turkey beard a try..and it's pretty stiff..stiffer than the store bought one I got and I noticed during gobbler season that it wasn't stiff enough to clean out pan real good..so maybe the beard brush will work better..if it holds up. That thing beside it is my flint pouch with a gator tooth button.

Finished my dogleg, antler primer. Works good..that dogleg makes a good handle and points the valve right at the pan..I'm glad I went with that option...are you posed to just put the primer valve on the pan and push down..or push the primer valve in with your finger and sling the powder in with hand motion..then put primer valve over pan, remove finger and pour..I realize whichever works best is good..but which way would Daniel have done it..you know..PC and all. When I lower the boom on that trophy buck..I don't want it not to reach the top braggin rights just cause I primed wrong.
