For some reason my photos were deleted from photobucket on my first post of this...maybe i messed up. Anyways This is my first attempt at making a short starter so don't be too harsh on me. It has a deer antler handle and tip. Its hard to see it too well, but i sanded the handle and tip smooth, and the tip also has a concave section for pushing the ball down the barrel of your gun. Epoxyed it all together and here you go! What do you think? Stain the dowel and antler, just the antler, just the dowel? :idunno:

Looks good. Fun making stuff, eh? I wouldn't stain it, let it "age" (ie: get dirty) on it's own.

I made one similar. Don't be surprised if the antler with the concave end breaks off. Just shorten a little and cut a piece of brass or whatever tube and inlet on. Works good too!

 It's not as long as it looks. The way i took the picture makes it seem that way. It does work perfect for my model 1780 flintlock pistol though.
