Sure. An early (1600-1620) fowling gun with English type 1 lock. Just a few picts now but more later.

Nice work. I am trying to figure out the brace or lever between the screws on the frizzen spring.

Couple days ago finished an early Lancaster using a Chambers' Dale Johnson lock{my first} and all his compoments including a Rice .54 x 44" bbl. The stock is from a Freddie Harrison quarter sawn blank which I did from scratch. Just started a Bucks County using a Rice "B" weight, .50 cal x46" lg. bbl and the stock is from a blank. These take a bit longer to make because many components are made. Dave...that's some beautiful work and hope you'll post some pics when it's done....Fred

By now everyone knows about my Verner-style, I hope to have it done soon. :shocked2: It's taken way too long.
Rice .50 cal, 42 in. long, lots of carving. Flehto (Fred) has helped me enormously on the patchbox latch, and have gotten lots of support. :thumbsup: :hatsoff: :bow:

Mike I'm anxious to see your Verner as It is my favorite style and I just finished my Verner this past fall in .45 cal. 44" Colerain was my first scratch build and I love it! Fred was an awesome help to me as well. Ed

Working on a snaphance, Waiting on lock castings, got all mounts done, after I finish with the lock Ill order the griffin 20ga barrel from colerain and some .595 rb's and all metal fittings, bolts, nails, etc!

I have a Isaac Haines .40 cal in the works. Rice 38 inch swamped barrel chambers golden age lock davis double set triggers sliding wood patch box. At the rate Im going it will be late summer before I will be done with it :thumbsup:

I've got another few days to go on the fitting and shaping on a Don Stith Deluxe Squirrel in .40 cal. Then probably a couple of weeks after that on drawing,engraving, and final finishes.

It's a Verner STYLE. I love the lines of his rifles, but I didn't want to copy. It has his patchbox, and other furniture, and of course the lines of the stock, but my own carving.
