And do you cut your patches at the muzzle?
I bought some pillow ticking at Wally World and cut it into strips then rolled up the strips and put them in the containers my test strips come in.
Anybody else got a good use for those containers? You sure end up with a lot of them in a short time.

My wife is, and thats a good idea.Never thought of using them. You could also put cotton or something like that and soak in deer urine or a cover scent.

Yep, just got out of the hospital today after 4 days with a DKA. Sounds like a good idea but my strips come in flat foil packs of five each so no go for me.

Unfortunately, I collect empty prescription pill bottles at a pretty good clip. They also make fine storage media. Just remove the label (sometimes takes a little Goo Gone). Various sizes available - large ones keep track of roundballs that I've separated into weight groups, small ones keep my dry lubed pillow ticking strips clean until use.

Yes thanks to Agent Orange! Just another gift from a period of my life I have a hard time remembering.

Been one for about 9 years. :cursing:

I am a diabetec and so is my wife. I take actos but she takes 6 shots a day. I never thought about using the bottles for strip patches but it sounds like a good idea.

Same here - my strips come in that flat foil package.

Take care out there, guys...

35mm film cans work too, I lube my strip patching w/ bees wax n bear grease mix. the can keeps em CLEAN...

Same here. I've got bunches of pill containers as well as the snap top bottles the test strips come in. Agent orange background here too. I also get 125 mL nalgene bottles from a lab that were used to hold distilled water. Dried out they make handy leak proof containers when I take along ethanol, water/ballistol, water, etc to the range. I usually end up cleaning my rifle before I leave so a couple insurance patches when I get home are all that is needed.

yes and no.

yes, diabetic for 16 years and will start using the test strip containers for two items.

no, because i don't use muzzle patches.

however, remington #10 caps came in small two piece tins that are nearly impossible to open when my fingers get all covered with bore butter. the desiccant in the test strip container helps reduce any chance of moisture while holding about 200 caps at a time. the big plastic tops would be really easy to remove while reloading.

the other use would be unique to my lower 20g barrel - #2 buckshot. it's used in 1oz loads but sold in a 5lb box. i could easily put 3ozs in each tube with a black magic marker showing the ounce increments after removing the mfg sticky lable.

great idea.

Have you looked into Byetta? I started two years ago. I went from 315lbs. to 220 and still dropping and I have no spikes or lows anymore. It's a protein they found in gila monsters. I don't want to know what made them look there.

Yup, I'm on 'lizard spit' as well. Still trying to figure out something to do with the used injectors. If you could reset them and fill them with lube it would be handy since it dispenses a certain amount and no more.

Yep been using the test containers for pre-measured shot containers, and powder containers for hunting. The ones I get are big enough to keep matches or tinder in. I am sure black powder shooters can think of many more things to use a small waterproof container for. I just can't seem to throw them away. Len

Whew, no-fortunately I ain't, but it has hit some in my family (adult onset)
I was hopeing you wasn't gonna say BP smoke is a 'risk factor' for.

I am and I use the alcohol prep pads to swab my .32's works great they are cheep and you can get them any where.

How did you like not having "nod offs" and "low carb" shakes? Was the second best part for me after the weight loss.

I use them too but noticed they are starting to get a bit scarce since digital cameras became so popular.

I used to put all the "small parts" in a test strip container.
Ball puller and worm for the ramrod, an extra flint, and so on.

Now I got that stuff in a tiny leather bag. For no special reason. Just because it looks better. :haha:

What are these things you speak of? The memory card for my camera never came in a can, nor does the slot measure 35mm. What gives???
   :haha: :haha: :blah:
