Good afternoon,
A family member recently gifted me an early 1980s production, unfired Armi San Marco Colt 1860 Army brass frame. I broke down the whole gun to clean it and make sure everything was working properly. I noticed that upon reinstalling the loading lever/plunger, when I push down on the loading lever to simulate loading a ball into a chamber the whole loading lever and plunger come loose from the frame and and slides out of position.
I have done extensive digging online to see if anyone else has had a similar issue but I haven't found anything similar to what I have been running into. I am thinking maybe the loading lever teeth might be out of spec or the groves in the barrel that the loading lever teeth engaged my be out of spec.
I am new to the colt pattern BP revolvers so any insight on this would be helpful. thank you!
