Lately I've been reading a lot of local history (Massachusetts and some other parts of New England). The frontier in these parts was during the 1600's, e.g. Pequot War, King Phillip's War, Old Deerfield, other less known battles and skirmishes. All very dramatic, interesting and extremely significant in the developing history of our country. I would think that this time period would merit it's own forum. Surely there are devotees and reenactors of this period out there(?)What does everyone think - Should Claude and company add another forum (as was done recently for the roundball-accuracy legions)?

Check out "Pre-Flintlock" in the "Weapons" section and "Pre-Flintlock Wars" under "Reenacting". These both cover the time period you're interested in.

That's sort of the unwritten agreement, anything pre-F&I slides in there without anyone fussing.

King Phillip's War and the Yamazzee Wars are two of my favorite study areas. Ranging and patrolling, as we know the activities today, were first developed during these conflicts.
