Austrian Muster Model 1842 Musket

Our local Historical Society has this Austrian Muster M1842 Musket hanging on the wall that was burned in Atlanta in 1864. Thought it is interesting. Proves these smoothbores were still being used as late as 1864. They have it labeled as a French Musket but I was told differently in another forum.

Having a smoothbore is better than having no bore but I'd still prefer a rifled bore. Interesting relics that tell quite the tale, thanks for posting.
