back yard testing

Question: What does one use in place of the ball? Powder, patch then? Looking to to some yard testing and don't want to blow holes in the neighbor's garage door. Yup- - - - we be new to this old sport so be nice?

What kind of testing? Unpatched powder will go bang but you can also dump it out..... Little wad of paper on top will fix that but could be a fire hazard depending.... The type of testing really dictates your method
