Nice! Now all ya gotta do is sand 'er down to about 320 grit and 0000steel wool it.Don't worry about any tool marks after that, every original has tool marks.Lets see some more pics when you git 'er goin'!

Give thought to what Stumblin Wolf says - I've seen his scrimshaw, the boy as talent.

I would advise taking the measuring spout off the powder valve and installing a pouring spout. Track sells them as #sp000 for $1.50 each. Simply a safety percaution. :hmm:

there is no way i have the talent to do scrimshaw will just leave it plain .

LOOK at that horn! YOu can't just leave it blank! WOW, that will look so good with something on it!

Nice job getting rid of the previous attempt.

I believe I would take off those tacks{?}and clean up the surface around the holes and if necessary use some very small iron or wooden pins to secure the base plug or simply to look more authentic.

RC,

Nothing earth shaking about removing scrimshaw. Just scrape, sand, file, etc. the horn until the old unwanted scrim is gone. Might be some work if the scrim is deep.
