Here's a couple pictures of a shooting bag and powder horn I just finished. The bag is made out of osnaburg with a squirrel hide flap. The horn I bought as a plain $10 cow horn at Friendship last Fall Shoot and finished it a couple weeks ago... :) Enjoy!

Thank you for looking!

Them are some bodacious base plug nails!

You really can't lose on the scrimshaw. Individual original horns are all unique unto themselves with owner's work being anywhere along the scale. The professional horners, of course, did outstanding work.

Great kit! May it serve you well.

Where Ya been young fella?? Busy makeing bags and horns I guess. They look fine to me. A lot better than I could do. Thanks for shareing.

Good looking horn! I really like the squirrel hide flap. Ya dont see alot of them like that, I always like unique items. :)

Actually No the scrimshaw looks OK. I have seen some originals that had similar scrim work. Not everyone that does scrim can make it look like a photograph!

Right fine bag too they seem the horn and the bag go well together!

Be proud, you done good!!!!

WOW!! Ya did good kid!!

I like that rustic homemade look. Like something a man of that time would make for himself.
Keep up the work.

Thanks,

Thank you for the kind compliments guys! :hatsoff: As a matter of fact, I do have a couple pictures of the horn and squirrel hide before they were finished. :) Here's the horn before the neck was stained and before the body was antiqued...

Here is another bag and horn I finished recently. The bag is exactly the same as the other one minus the squirrel hide flap and it was dyed in fresher walnut dye... I gave it to my dad. :)

At the moment I'm pounding out a patch knife from an old piece of steel, I'll take some pics when I get a chance. :)
