That sure would look good on a Baltic matchlock or snaplock wouldn't it? Seems like I have some ancestors from over that way, across the pond in Sweden, and Ukraine. Love the early muzzleloading technologies and Cutfinger's strap fits right in, ( OH, to be talented enough to build such a gun; I'd surely scrape up the funds for a strap.) If I could find detailed plans for such a snaplock, it would be legal for hunting in Arkansas, and I could run the game wardens nuts trying to figure it out! LOL! Ethnic freedom, baby!

Sorry I’m home with a cold I think it be very cool for you to hunt with a snaplock you could go to the rifle shop they have kits for everything and you might be able to do a thing where you buy a part every payday or something they’re always willing to make deals especially in these times

Last I checked, only flintlock and percussion muzzleloading arms are legal to take game in Arkansas, so the matchlock is forbidden, while the snaplock is essentially a flintlock, and should be legal. Grown men in Arkansas are deemed too stupid to be trusted with open flame (matchlock) in the woods especially those of us whose mother and sister are the same person, LOL!
