You say you baristol your gun after soap and water as a rust preserveative. That is all good. Now before you load and shoot you should run a cleaning patch down the barrel to remove any oil or dirt that has collected since your last cleaning job. Then you should be ready to load a clean barrel.
No there should be no problems with using wonderlube and baristol that I know of. They both do the same job only one may do a better job.
Fox :hatsoff:

The MSDS sheet for Ballistol lube says it is based on "medicinal grade mineral oil". Generic "mineral oil" is a petroleum distillation by-product. So, take that and stick it in your barrel :haha:

I have switched over to Balistol too, and am now using Stumpys Moose Snot for a patch lube. I can't believe how quick the rifle cleans up now. I used to use Wonderlube, but like the snot much better. Why not give it a try?

I have been using Balistol to protect the barrel for the last two years. I use a spit patch on all my rifles and can shoot all day without cleaning on all of them. I have a .50 CVA Mountain Rifle that needed a cleaning patch after 5 shots. Now it will shoot all day without cleaning since I switched to Balistol.

It is mineral oil. Mineral oil is made from petroleum but the refining process that makes mineral oil removes all the nasty stuff that gunks up barrels. I know a lot of people who use all sorts of non-petroleum greasy lubes that work just fine with Balistol.

I tried Ballistol in my Barrels for storage and It just didn't work for me and my sticks, got some orange on my patches every month was afraid it was rust. I went back to WD-40 and no problems no orange patches. I do use a Ballistol & water mix for target shootin like a dry patch lube and it works very well. I know some use it for storage and like it but not all barrels are the same I guess is true.

If i oil my barrels with Ballistol after soap and water cleaning can i still use wonderlube on my patches or are the two incompatible?

I clean using Ballistol mixed with water, use straight Ballistol as exterior and bore protection, and use Wonder Lube for patch lube...with excellent results
