Took a 4 pointer with the .54cal Green Mountain Flint smoothbore barrel that I recently got for a Hawken stock. Not much of a field test as he was so close at less than 25yds but it was good to know it worked as planned, heart shot, complete passthrough.

70grns Goex FFFg (3F)
Oxyoke wonderwad
.015" cotton patch
Hornady .530

I really like this .54cal GM Flint barrel...sitting there this morning thinking I could start carrying a couple of shot charges with me when I go deer hunting...if I didn't get a deer by late morning, I could just pull the ball and drop a load of #6's right on top of the 70grn powder charge as it's the same charge I settled on for a good small game shot pattern.

Pretty much decided if I could only keep one muzzleloader in general, this would be it...33" barrel, balances good, handles good, accurate, and versatile.
