what amount of bp one can use w/ a given barrel length before you do not get a full burn of the powder. I would specifically like to now about a 20"-22" .54 cal barrel
Thanks
Nathan

From what I have read several times on a .54 cal with a charge of 100 grains of FF, you will burn most of it in 21" & acquire most of the velosity you are going to get...... After that distance the barrel is just a sight plane.

Now of course there are lots of factors involved, burn rate of the powder, & measurement of bore & distance & resistance & all of that junk.....

Maybe someone on here has the formula for figuring it .
