I know this is going to sound like a smart A reply. Sorry if it does, It's not meant that way. I'm mearly asking a question. :relax:
What do you suppose they did with the pieces of maple that were real curly? They certainly would not have said "This is too fancy to use"?
While it may not have been common, and I will be the first to agree that this is above average wood, Jerry Noble's 3 books are full of Southern guns made with curly maple. Alfred Bearden(p101, vol.II) and J.B Gross(p111, vol II) both as pretty wood as i have seen. :imo:
