This is a really nice custom build of a .40 Virginia style flintlock. Not sure of maker, but paperwork says it was built around 1990 and came from the Dan Coates collection. It has a 42" Douglas barrel, Siler lock and R. Southgate patchbox (per paperwork). The Maple stock has some nice figure with incise and relief embellishments. Fittings and inlays are German Silver. LOP is 13.75". Bore is bright and shiny. Weighs in at about 8 lbs. The rifle is in overall very good condition. It would probably cost nearly twice what I am asking to have this rifle built today. $1200 + Shipping.
