Here's a beautiful example of a matchlock posted by another member on here. Eventually I'd like to build a snapping matchlock and I would be happy if it looks like this!
 
Keep in mind most military matchlocks, or plain hunting guns were plain. The fancy works of art were only kept. They can be a little rough around the edges and still work ok, so don’t get discouraged on your build!
 
if Lodgewood lacks in historical accuracy in these matchlock builds, they certainly don’t lack in build quality!

The matchlock I have from them is beautifully crafted.
 
He probably only had a certain diameter of round stock to turn the barrel from. Originals seem to be way heavier in the breech and the flared muzzle.
 
As I learn more about pre-flintlock guns I will probably be more observant, maybe enough to catch the "oddity" like Flint62Smoothie did!
