I made all these about thirty years ago. The belt and sheath were my first two projects, IIRC. The holster was made a couple of years later.

The holster is fully lined and all hand-stitched. I couldn't make it today, because I can't force a needle through all those layers.

Good job. I can't force the needles through either. I use rubber cement and clamps to hold things together then go to my drill press, just like the original mountain men did  , and drill my stitch holes, then hand stitch. Don't tell anyone though. It ain't 'authentic'. :rotf:

If the round stiching holes bother you...make up a heavy awl blade and chuch it in the drill press. Then just use the press as a punch, this is how the harness stiching machines worked to make the holes for the needles.

That's an idea that I'll keep in mind. I certainly could have used it on this holster. Just under the trigger guard, the total thickness is about 3/4 of an inch. I had to stick the awl through from one side, then intersect the hole from the other side. IIRC, I pulled the awl right out of the handle once.
