Zonie! Why, he does more inlays in a year than most 'smiths do in five. ::

Just occurred to me. When I cover a model airplane I put decals where the occasional mistake occurs. Hmmmmm.

Hands down......birddog6!!!! Great hand made guns, quality components, very fair prices, lots of FREE rock solid advice and a DARNED fine gentleman. :applause: :applause:
How many smiths supply loading data, 12 free flints, 100 balls, test target, AND great conversation?

I think anyone who is capable of turning out a functional quality muzzleloader that is pleasing to what the customer's needs are, is a good gunsmith/builder... Anyone who is capable of repairing muzzleloaders is a good gunsmith... Quality parts are everything and I only know one country you can get them from, and it's the good ol' U.S.A... There are some good foreign parts out there that will last a long, long time, but I'll take a Siler lock over any foreign lock any day... We are fortunate to have so many great gunsmiths, and parts producer's here in our country... Locks, stocks, barrels, triggers, buttplates, trigger guards, thimbles, sights, inlays,,, we are fortunate in'deed! :) :applause:

you ain't kiddin' we are lucky indeed.
My e-pal in S. Africa can only buy a muzzle loader with a license and you must buy the gun first THEN apply for the license and wait up to 6 months!
I offered to send him a .36 barrel I had laying around so he could build himslef a gun. Not so. Building a gun, even a muzzle loader will get you locked up for a VERRRRY long time in S.A.
My pal tells me that right now percussion caps are darned near impossible to find and powder is limited to Wano and only a pound or so at a time. :curse:
