Hi
The Surrey Branch of the MLAGB are running another one of their "Repeating Pistol" Open Meetings on the Cheylesmore Range at Bisley Camp (U.K.)
Based on pre-WW1 revolver courses of fire, each being 3 series of 5 shots: SLOW-fire (3 minutes), TIMED (1 minute) and RAPID (30seconds per series); "BOBBER" (turning target faced for 5s, edged for 10s) and SURRENDEN (agaist the clock with the time for the series subtracted from the target score).
There are classes for "STANDARD REVOLVER" (19thC design) -- offhand AND supported; "TARGET REVOLVER" - offhand only; "FREE REVOLVER" --- as well as "MODERN MUZZLE-LOADER" to cater for the smokeless conversions which many Brits use since the politicians took away our cartridge pistols.
We allow B.P. substitutes as well as Smokeless Powder/shotgun primers in order to encourage people to "have a go".... of course diffent types shoot in separate classes.
Entries are the cheapest around -- due to the support of Surrey Branch members working for nothing to run the Meeting, and and early entries get a £2 per entry discount as well --- details from the Surrey Branch MLAGB website.
Illuminated WINNER Certificates, plus a system of "Skilled Shot Certificates", all scaled to the number of entries means that an average Club shooter will win somethging on a good day.
Try it?
