Have been playing in the black powder realm for a number of years. Built a little Traditions 50cal Deerhunter from a kit that my father gave me when I was in college 30 yrs ago. Have recently been bitten by the flinter bug and stumbled across the Iron Pennsylvania rifle which I couldn't walk away from.

Hopefully I will soon have some pertinent questions, but will continue to read avidly as much of the archives as I can. Also in the process of constructing the bag and accessories to go along with this 58 cal.

There are worse things in life that you could "stumble" on! Nice rifle! Have fun!! Greg. :)

Very nice looking rifle Doc. How about a little more info? Lock maker, barrel maker, width across the flats, length?

Well, it has a swamped 42" barrel, Siler lock, won't be able to shoot her until I find some balls!! I guess my first question might be where is a good source for 58 cal balls (OK, looks like TOTW has me covered on RB)? Would like to shoot a few sizes before I order bullet molds.
