Those of you who shoot competition may want to pay a visit to electra, Texas if you don't live too far away. I live two hours away and try to make as many matchs as possible during the year. They shoot shotgun the first Sunday and rifle/pistol the last Sunday. Also have a turkey shoot coming in October and then regular matches after that until spring when they have a shotgun 3 day match and Memorial Day weekend they have a 3 day also. Friendly folks and a relaxed atmosphere. Here is the link http://redriverrenegades.com/ I'm not a member there, just a visitor but really enjoy it.

Barnettshale, always glad to see folks out competing with their muzzleloaders but looks like they have brought everything but the kitchen sink
when all it takes is a small bag of stuff, horn, gun and 2 legs to stand on. Do they ever have "walk thru ,from the pouch" shoots?

When they have the 3 day shoot Memorial Day weekend, they shoot a primitive style, split the ball on the axe edge, running rabbit, axe throw and knife throw. Not really set up for the 'woods walk" type competition. There is a major highway behind the big 100 yd berm and a business loop on the other side so they are sort of hemmed in. Glad to be able to shoot the paper targets. Some are of the "buckskinner" variety and go to rondy's. Most are just folks who enjoy shooting blackpowder.

There is a bench match but everything else is shot offhand including pistol (one hand, unsupported, bullseye style. pistol and revolver are sometimes 5 shots in 30 minutes and sometimes 10 shots in 30 minutes. I can do the ten in 30 minutes but it is a push. Usually finish with about 4 minutes left. Any bags on benchs are either bench rest match's or someone is sighting in. Only ones allowed to shoot from a rest are the sub-juniors in a standard match.
