I also use Powder Inc. I highly recommend them, always great to deal with and good prices.

I also order from Grafs. I've bought both the Grafs powder and the Swiss powder, and as far as I can see there's no difference in performance.
Always had good service.

Only problem, and this is with any powder ordered, is that there has to be an adult to sign for it when it gets delivered, which can be hard if all the adults in the family are working.

Well, officially there has to be an adult. I did have 5 pounds just left on the doorstep once, but only once.

One problem with mail order is the $20.00 HazMat fee. Once you add that it doesn't make sense to order small lots of powder. HazMat is the same for 1 lbs vs. 10 lbs.

What about here in Canada? can I get ...say 2-5 lbs shipped to me ?? It aswell can be a pain finding it here..When you do ...STOCK UP.

Rob

Here's another, though at $12.50/lb. for ffg Goex, they are pricier than Powder Inc. or Grafs. http://www.blackpowderva.com/

Black powder at over the counter retail is almost non-existent anymore. I have found that Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's still sell regular Goex. Bring your checkbook - they are pretty proud of their supply!

That must be a Graf's requirement...I've had a number of cases of Goex delivered by a Goex distributor and the cases are always just sitting on the front porch when I get home from work

Goex is American made. In Lousianna, now. Graf is made by the same company that makes Wano, or Schuetzen BP, in Europe. Swiss powder is made by a different company, with charcoal coming from Eastern Europe. The differences between Goex and Wano are slight, and depend on the lot being examined. The main difference seems to be in price. Swiss is numbered differently, and uses a different grid system to screen the powders. Swiss 1 1/2 seems to be the closest to our Goex FFg powder: Swiss 3F is actually finer than our Goex FFFg powder, and produces higher velocities.

Swiss powder is the most expensive to buy of the three powders. It is developing a reputation as a clean burning, low residue powder. And shooters like that extra velocity on the target ranges.

I found that if you screen Goex FFg powder, and Goex FFFg powder, you get the same clean burning that you do with Swiss, and for much less cost.

I buy American, as I want a manufacturer of Black Powder to continue to exist in my country. Other opinions vary.
