Does anyone know where to purchase blackpowder in the southwestern part of Ohio, or a company that does not require you to order a minimum of a case?

I used to always replenish my supply at cw events, but havent been to any for awhile and there is no one left in the Dayton/Cincy area that I have been able to find that still sells it.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

Graf & Sons, Missouri...they sell loose cans....
4-5 can minimum I think.

But FYI...J&J Pyrotechnics in Moscow, PA delivers a case of Goex for $220 ($8.80/lb)

Since I'm just starting the flintlock gig, do you folks recommend shooting fffg powder for both pan and barrel or would I be better served by trying two different grades of powder? I am shooting a .50 pedersoli.

I started out using Goex FFFg main and Goex FFFFg prime and it's worked perfectly for me...using two different powders has never been a problem.

FFFFg prime can be carried in a small pan primer called a "pocket primer"...not much bigger than a ball point pen and drops exactly 3 grains into the pan every time from it's spring loaded plunger tip...I tether mine in the shirt pocket of a hunting shirt...stays high, dry, and handy

I also live in sw ohio, in the past I have bought goex at the Bass Pro Shop outside of cincy, its been about 3 yrs. since I bought any there because I buy in bulk now to keep the price/ pound down. As for my charges, I use 3f for the main charge and 4f for the prime, I have used 3f for prime with little to no difference in ignition time. Hope this helps.

You can buy a few cans at a time from Powder Inc. also, if I remember correctly. www.powderinc.com

I know you can get it in Columbus area & Lancaster area & Southeast Ohio area. Also you are not too far from Friendship, you can buy it there should you got a weekend loose in June it would be well worth the trip.

Usually a person finds stuff like this right under their nose & didn't know it was there. Years ago I would get mine in Columbus when I was up there & bring it home, then accidently found a place that had it about 5 miles from my house ! ha ha ! Also if you visit a couple local gun clubs you will find out from the fellers there where to get it. Call a few of the local reloading suppliers & they should know a place.
