great job i like it ,but then i like any thing that belches fire and smoke and makes lots of noise ,and looks like a fun to shoot gun too.

Thanks TwoBellys.
It shoots a lot of fire and it belches so much smoke I cant see for about 5 seconds.

Hi Tom,

a really handy little blockbuster. With this gun nobody will disturb you. A close combat gun for ex parachuters

I know that the blunderbuss was a short range weapon, did it have the same intention as the blanket gun?

Hi Dirk,
I believe you are reading my mind.
This gun is designed for up close and personal.
If Im asleep in my canvas shelter and Im awaken by someone or something trying to hurt me.
They are in for a big surprise.
Tom.

Hi Tom,

obviously all members of the infantry have similar thoughts when it comes to self protection.

Yep you're right, the Blunderbuss was a close range weapon mainly used by naval personel to aid in repelling boarders. I t could also have been used for carriages carrying mail or money or whathaveyou. I do however think the term "blanket gun is a twentieth century one. I know this may open a can of worms but it's my opinion on it others may vary :v

You're probably correct - the term is modern. I've seen photos of too many originals, however, to believe the concept is.

Cowan's auctions have several from past auctions pictured, with the prices each realized. I'd post more photos, but they have them copy-protected. I'm not shilling for them; I have no financial interest, and the guns are sold, but they are examples.

Good job. How long is the barrel. I have a old Cva that could be used. Once again a fine looking gun.

Over all 24in.
I modeled it after the kit at Pecatonica.
