Actually the basic pattern of a long "tube" didn't change all that much (some had one piece bodies - others two piece)- mainly the decoration increased based on comparisons with the leather cases illustrated by Catlin & A. J. Miller in teh 183's vs tha later post 1860's cases - and yes some had fringe - just one example circa 1834......You can find patterns, but they are late 19th century, sold as "Mountain Man." Avoid.
No fringe........
I noticed, that you never mentioned you wanted a PC blanket gun cover, so you can make it anyway you want! As was mentioned. Just fold over paper (newspaper works) like an envelope for your gun and draw an outline. Transfer the pattern to your blanket material, mark and cutout. When you make your pattern. Be sure to make it a little over-size both in width and length. Whip stitch or blanket stitch it together and your ready to go!david50 said:i know it is probably a pretty simple project but does anyone have a pattern to make one from a wool blanket, or where i might find one online...thanks
