YOu have to be consistent in how you rest the gun when shooting off a bench. If you can't find a way to balance it on the barrel or underrib, 8 inches from the muzzle, then move the rest back so that it is touching the front of the trigger guard each time you shoot. Mark where your feet are placed when you sit at the bench. Then orient the rest to one position and leave it there for all shots. By putting your feet in the same position each time, you tend to control where you sit on the seat, and even where your elbow rests. The rest controls where the gun is placed, and all of those give you consistency to shoot small groups. Easy, right ?
