Bluing question

I am about to begin bluing my KY flintlock barrel. Do I need to remove the touch hole insert or blue it with it in? I know either way I should plug the actual hole when I blue it, but I don't know if the insert needs to be blued at all, blued while in, or blued by itself then put back in. Thanks

If it's a stainless liner it won't take the bluing anyway.
