Antone out there seen this new book " Recreating the 18th Century Powder Horn" by Sibley---I saw it at Dixon's and thought to myself---that's what I need is another thing to build. Somehow I caught the bug---and I wanted to know what the "worth" of this book might be to an old ML'er with another "idea"????

I have it and I feel its good gives some tips on how to do some things I had ?'s about :m2c:

I bought it. I'm an avid horn builder, not very talented at it, but I love doing it. the book was so well illustrated, I couldn't help buying it. the clear, step by step directions combined with the neet little tricks they employ will really improve my horn building skills I think.

I bought the Sibley book thru TOW and used it to do my first horn. It is very well illustrated and contains clear instructions. The horn is nearly finished and it exceeded my wildest expectations - lots of compliments on it already. The book is well worth it if you are going to build even just one horn. Once you get the bug though it's hard to stop at just one.

Pasquenel,

I bought a copy to help with my first horn. It's easy to follow with plenty of illustrations for ideas. TOTW had them on sale for $18.95 if I remember, it's worth the money.

:agree: I had built a few horns in the past , using all self taught methods. Then I aquired Sibleys book after seeing it talked about on this forum. Without question the best investment I've made in quite some time. :m2c:
