I am just beginning building longrifles and such and want to get into full swing by the time I retire from teaching. Does anyone out there have a pile of books, videos or dvds that you don't need anymore? Some of you have gone beyond this stage of learning and you may have some dust collectors that you might sell. Let me know what you have and your price. email to: [email protected]
Thanks Bert

Hola Bert

Here is a link to a dvd rental site that I have used many times .... I highly recommend it for some great dvds on gunbuilding by such gunsmiths as Hershel House etc.

bert- what Davy says is absolutely 'for true,' and i cannnot recommend techvidrent with enough enthusiasm. Worth an outright purchase is "The Gunsmith of Grenville County" by Alexander, as well as "The Art of Building the Pa. Longrifle" by a good fellow whos name i cannot bring to mind. As regards tools
DON'T BUY CHEAP TOOLS of any kind. This is one of the deadly sins (put between anger, which cheap tools will cause when you try to use them and you get bas results, and sloth, which is what you will suffer after using cheap tools, getting bad results, and deciding that the whole thing is a waste of time and you're days would be better spent drinking beer and being dissolute.)

good luck. Have great patience... as we used to say in the Airborne, "You have the rest of your life to figure this out."

Thanks for the help. I will look into the rentals and try some of those. I still have hope that someone wants to get rid of some dusty books, etc. By the way...I was in the 101st ABN from '75 to '78. Now I am buying the time back for a early retirement from teaching so I can do other things before I die. Thanks again. Bert
