I'm from the N.Y. Flintlock team, unfortunetly the last two years we couldn't talk enough of the team to make the 800-900 mile ride to Kentucky to particpate. I really look forward to the trip. The weather is usally great the first weekend of October, it is a long ride, but it really is a pretty scenic trip through the Mountains of Maryland and West. Virginia, into the hills of Kentucky. I live in the lower Hudson Valley of NY and the trip usually takes about 11 hours each way. The shoot is at Fort Boonesboro about half way between Winchester, Ky and Lexington, Ky. The shoot is sponsered by the KENTUCKY team, who puts out a nice spread after all the powder is burned. The teams that have participated recently are from PENNSLYVANIA, OHIO, INDIANIA, ,GEORGIA. I'm sure I'm forgetting somone here... sorry... Hopefully next year we will be able to make the trip. Yes KENTUCKY, some of us NEW YORKERS really did want to go. It's the only event I get to dress period for. I'm sorry , really sorry that we missed the shoot. Hope to see you next year.
