Any of you Texians going to this shoot. I have cleared up my calendar and plan to go, weather permitting. I may not shoot much or well either, but it would be fun to meet some of you, as well as the other shooters there.

I don't have any information on costs but am told that joining the TMLRA may be necessary, to which I am not opposed.

So far, this is all I have found on the internet:

Texas Muzzle Loader Association Spring Shoot (March, 2006):
The Texas Muzzle Loader Association will hold its spring "Frost on the Cactus" shoot at the Kenneth Madlock Gun Range at Brady Lake on a Saturday in early-March, 2006. For more information, please contact Patsy Lohn at 325-597-2947.

As I get more details I will post here.

Well I have only been to one, (June) but my understanding by some who have been in March is that the weather is really unpredictable then.

The time frame in June, according to them is more desirable in that regard. :hmm:

I know of at least a couple of gentlemen here ... who are planning on attending the June shoot, myself included!

I am going cuz Iam a glutton for punishment and really enjoy getting my nose rubbed in the mud when it comes to shooting ability! :cursing:

Weather in March there is unpredictable--just as it is here in sunny Double Oak. But my little trailer is very comfortable if its too bad to shoot.

Watch out for those logging chains they call wind flags! Id go but think I'm going to make the Alamo the week before , I had planned on Brady but.. Fred  good shooting guy! And it's never to bad to shoot at Brady 20 below,105 mph wind, and then you got.. just fooling.

The only problem I see is when ya hafta tie yourself off with a hawser rope for a safety line when you have to to go fetch your target from the range! Best tie a drag anchor to your leg just in case the safety line breaks! :shocked2: :rotf:

Heck, with this wind blowing around here today, at least I could practice in similar conditions, if I had this new rear sight blued, drilled and mounted.

i guess i caught the end of ya'lls conversation, sorry i missed it. There's a nice rendezvous in Howard County in April if you need a place to be. There's not much for shade but good people and a fine trail walk. The best part is of course the "fun shoots". Our bunch will also be in Buffalo Gap in April the very next weekend and of course at Fort Chadbourne in May. Drop me a line if you're interested in attending any event. If you're willing to attend Brady then any of our events will be no problem as far as distance is concerned and we would love to have you. :hatsoff:
