I just ordered a brass barrelled blunderbuss from MVTC. On their website they say it has a .730 bore as measured 3" down the barrel. Doesn't that make it 12 gauge? :hmm:

Does anybody own a brass barrelled blunderbuss and what loads are you using? I ordered a Lee .308 RB mould that I can use for both making buckshot for it and for projectiles to use in my .32 mule ear. I also have an order of KIK 2f powder coming. I wonder if I shouldn't have thrown in a can of 1f for it as well.

Yes, it is a 12 gauge...

Way cool! I would love to have one of those. Playing with loads is kinda what I had in mind when I started my Tulle kit a year ago.

If you really want some fun try policing up all the empty .22 brass you find laying around and try it out on an old 30 weight can...yee-hah! If you want a pistol to match, Track has a .82 caliber brass blunderbuss barrel one! They say if you look down the bore, the front of the breech plug has "Empty" engraved on it. Is that cool or what?

Hey MM, my CVA blunderbuss shoots a .660 ball. What gauge do you think my BB is?

That would roughly be a 16 gauge. I shoot .650 RB out of my .67 Tower pistol and use Circle Fly 16 gauge overpowder wads that fit perfectly.

Depending on your patch thickness, let's speculate it's around .015 in thickness...

So we have: .015 + .660 + .015 = .690 (14 gauge)
