I was just wondering when and if brass tips on ramrods were first used on longrifles? I had one original Ohio rifle that had a ramrod without a brass tip, but I don't know if it was the original ramrod. When did brass tips come onto the scene? I would guess that the ones that are threaded to take a cleaning jag are a relatively recent innovation, but I could be wrong.
